Pittsburgh ranks 12th for family entertainment. The destination has comparable amenities to peers as it relates to zoos and aquariums and also amusement parks, with Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium and the National Aviary as well as Kennywood Park, but lags behind for fun and games – particularly in downtown Pittsburgh, where large share of hotel rooms are located. In order to be able to keep traveling families entertained in the core of the City, Pittsburgh will need to work closely with property owners to support the entry of a large family-friendly entertainment tenant such as a bowling alley, indoor playground, or mid-sized performing venue.
