Expand Outdoor Adventure Programs

Introducing and familiarizing visitors and local communities with Pittsburgh’s regional parks and waterfronts will require consistent yearly programming and marquee events that create memorable moments for different audiences and drive repeat visitation – particularly for those living in Allegheny County and the region. While local partners such as the Allegheny County Parks Department is able to support and organize programs across various parks and open spaces, events require significant capital and marketing – of which many local groups lack expertise and resources. Working with the local and regional parks systems and waterfront organizations, VisitPITTSBURGH will need to take the lead in building a pipeline of events and programs that align with the various available spaces in the County in order to create a robust calendar of activities centered on outdoor adventures and health & fitness.
