Enhance River Public Access
Over the last decade, Pittsburgh has made strides in enhancing public access to the riverfront, including the completion of the Allegheny Riverfront Park and several art activations along Allegheny. The nearly $4.2 billion in riverfront and adjacent investments have increased visibility and awareness of the waterfront, and more importantly, brought communities together. Moving into the next era of the City’s waterfront, it is critical for Pittsburgh to continue supporting the work of partners who are working to improve accessibility to the rivers and the use of the rivers for visitors. This includes ensuring recreational vehicles are able to operate in the river easily and given priority on the banks of the rivers, as well as providing amenities for new tour operators to bring more people onto the waters.
