Create and Promote Diverse Culinary Events and Experiences
Visitors often experience cities by indulging in local cuisines. However, trying new foods in new places can be intimidating. Pittsburgh should work closely with partners in the culinary industry and local business chambers (including the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Midwest USA Chinese Chamber of Commerce) to highlight the unique dining experiences on offer across the destination and help lower barriers to entry in order to encourage visitors – old and new – to step out of their comfort zones and explore Pittsburgh’s wide variety of restaurants. This can be achieved through education and marketing such as having a guided tour or class, or a curated menu and experience.
