In August, VisitPITTSBURGH launched our Neighborhood Tourism Readiness Index and Destination Assessment. We are currently working with neighborhood organizations and business chambers to complete destination assessments for all 90 Pittsburgh neighborhoods and will use the information gathered to create a Neighborhood Hub on the VisitPITTSBURGH website to better tell authentic community stories.

AT.2 Support Creation of New Arts/Culture Products and Experiences
Invest in a digitally-enabled, self-guided citywide public art tour with local partners

VisitPITTSBURGH is developing a self-guided walking tour to highlight the public mural art around the city, in collaboration with local arts organizations.

AA.3 Promote the Experiences and Attractions Honoring the Impact and Influence of Black Culture
Curate a collection of immersive African American Tourism experiences to market

Recently, VisitPITTSBURGH worked with the August Wilson African American Cultural Center to develop and market “Explore August Wilson’s Pittsburgh”, a campaign highlighting key offerings of the August Wilson African American Cultural Center and the ‘August Wilson Pilgrammage’ — an essential experience for fans of the playwright’s works, literature and arts & culture travelers.

CB.2 Create and Promote Craft Beverage Events and Experiences
Support the exploration and creation of a cycling event that incorporates Pittsburgh Brewers Guild trail

Through the VisitPITTSBURGH Festivals & Cultural Events Fund, we were able to sponsor Pedal PGH 2025, the largest annual cycling event by Bike Pittsburgh. This year, Bike Pittsburgh worked with the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild to highlight local breweries at the end of the event.
